Peaches, one of the summer's best treats. Nothing can beat biting into a peach on a hot summer afternoon. Sadly, due to their sensitivity they are rarely found ripe in the superstore, and they are difficult to find in the winter.
Plan ahead because they are easy to can, make into jams or freeze and next winter you can have as many peaches as you can eat.
Colorado Peaches: Peach of Peaches. Colorado peaches are busting with flavor, juice and sweetness. Once you try a Colorado Peach you won't be able to go a summer without buying them by the box to be sure you don't have to go without for the year.
Hill Country Peaches: The prize of Texas. Millions of people look forward to these highly prized peaches that come from the Hill Country of Texas. They are the only thing that can beat the summer heat of southern Texas. Delicious, ripe and juicy, they will become the highlight of your summer.
All peaches are white or yellow peaches. White peaches are typically a little sweeter due to more sugar than yellow peaches; however, that can all change with the select variety.
Whether white or yellow peaches, they fall into the category of Cling Stone, Semi Freestone, or Freestone. These peach names refer to how firmly the pit of the peach holds to the fruit.
